Privacy Policy

Who we are
Lantern is a self-hosted localization tool operated by Amir Marachly (the “data controller”) from Switzerland. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact contact@abyss-inn.ch.
What data we collect
- Account data: your email address, optional display name, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Content you create: translation keys and values, comments, and an activity log of actions you take in the app.
- Strictly necessary cookie: a single HttpOnly
sessioncookie that keeps you signed in. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers.
Why we use it & legal basis
We process this data solely to provide the service to you — to authenticate you, store your work, and let collaborators in your organization work together. The legal basis is the performance of our agreement to provide you the service (and our legitimate interest in operating and securing it). We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies
Lantern sets exactly one cookie: a strictly necessary, HttpOnly session cookie used only to keep you logged in. Because it is essential and not used for tracking, no consent banner is required.
Retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and the data identifying you are removed; shared work product (e.g. translations) is retained but anonymized so it is no longer linked to you.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Access & portability: download all your data as JSON from your Account page.
- Erasure: delete your account (and the data identifying you) from the same Account page.
- Rectification: update your details, or email us to request a correction.
EU/EEA and Swiss users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above. Questions? contact@abyss-inn.ch.
